Baja Californian Natalia Escalera is in the Top 5 at the World Artistic Gymnastics Challenge Cup in Hungary

The Baja California native was present at this tournament in Hungary as she prepares for the World Championship that will take place in Liverpool

The Institute of Sports and Physical Culture of Baja California has revealed that gymnast Natalia Escalera won a spot in the top 5 at the World Artistic Gymnastics Challenge Cup in Szombathely, Hungary. The Baja Californian competed on uneven bars, floor, and vault.

As part of a competition for fun on their way to Liverpool 2022, between September 29 and October 2, this sport native talent of Baja California won fourth place on uneven bars with a score of 13.233; fifth on floor with 12.733, and fifth on vault with 12.899, under the direction of trainer Pavel Oceguera.

Natalia, who is also the captain of the Mexican team who will compete in the world competition, was defeated by Hungarian Zoja Szekely with a score of 13.733, Canadian Sidney Turner with 13.668, and American Addison Fata with 13.600.

On floor, American Katelyn Jong with 13.500, Hungarian Greta Mayer with 13.033, and Canadian Turner with 12.766 all triumphed above Natalia.

Natalia Escalera was fifth place on vault, where American Addison Fata with 13.666, Slovenian Teja Belak with 13.216l, and Hungarian Greta Mayer with 13.066 all won first places.

Escalera and Pavel Oceguera will come back to Ensenada to continue training before beginning their next odyssey as this Baja Californian gymnast will try to emulate Alexa Moreno’s feat of being at a World Championship podium.
