Line-cutters are getting up very early to cut in line at the Tijuana-San Diego ports of entry

One can see these line-cutters in action practically every day

For those who, day after day, are getting up early to get in line, either for personal, work-related, or academic reasons, crossing the border into the United States can be very difficult, since there are a lot of factors involved in this.

One of these is the long lines that can last up to five hours, but maybe the most problematic factor is the “gaviotas” (line-cutters), who keep trying to cut in line in both the pedestrian and vehicle lanes.

On the early morning of Wednesday, October 19, as it happens practically every day, groups monitoring the ports of entry posted that, once again, the San Ysidro port of entry was invaded by line-cutters.

The way in which they operate may vary: some wait until somebody gets distracted and cut in line, while other “gaviotas” pay so that they can get a spot in the line. In addition to this, line-cutters tend to cause accidents or crashes.

In fact, there are several pictures shared on social media where one can see several people taking advantage of the morning chaos to cut in line.
