The state governor emphasized that 150,000 jobs will be created in the real-estate industry with this housing program

Governor Marina del Pilar announced the investment of more than 31 billion pesos which will be used to create more than 100,000 housing actions and will generate approximately 150,000 direct jobs in the state’s real-estate industry, which are part of the 2022-2027 State Housing Plan.

Marina del Pilar pointed out that the three levels of government and public and private developers are part of the plan, whose goal is to guarantee the right of all Baja Californian families to a dignified home that allows for the healthy development of people, especially children and teenagers.

In addition, the governor highlighted the economy of the real-estate industry as this will not only create hundreds of thousands of jobs but will strengthen the dynamism that distinguishes this industry. It will complement the construction and restoration of housing with a social focus to support those who need it the most.

For his part, the Secretary of Infrastructure, Urban Development, and Territorial Redesign, Arturo Espinoza Jaramillo, emphasized the State Housing Plan’s different pillars which promote the self-production of social housing through the sale of plots with services, the sale of new single-family or vertical housing, and restored housing in the seven municipalities of Baja California.

Espinoza Jaramillo stated that, so far, in 2022, six developers were certified to build housing units, which is why in the next few months, construction of 4,000 housing units will begin in Tijuana and Mexicali, following the framework of the 2022-2027 State Housing Plan. With this, supply is guaranteed for Baja Californian citizens with below average income.
