Baja California breaks Guinness Record for biggest rosca in the world

Universidad Vizcaya posted on their social media pages that they were looking to make history

They did it! Students of Universidad Vizcaya in Mexicali were looking to break the Guinness Record of the Longest Bread Line in the World by making Rosca de Reyes, as Three Kings’ Day is celebrated today and, happily, they were up to the challenge!

The university posted on their social media pages that they were looking to make history, which is why they decided to share some of these important moments with the community of Baja California. They uploaded some pictures of the creation of this traditional bread.

“We share with you some moments of our great Rosca de Reyes events, where we are looking to break the Guinness Record for the Longest Bread Line in the World. We recognize the huge effort by our students, as well as our brother campuses in Ensenada and Tijuana, at this great event,” they stated.

It should be noted that the exact length of this giant rosca is 4,053 meters (2.8 miles); more than 5 tons of flour were used and there are more than 30,000 plastic dolls inside it.

Mexicali mayor, Norma Bustamante, celebrated this event on her social media pages and claimed that the making of this Three Kings’ Day rosca “promotes our traditions and it is a part of the rich gastronomy of Mexico”.
