Birch Aquarium will reveal the mysteries of the ocean in bioluminescent event in San Diego

This event will combine art, science, and technology

Birch Aquarium is launching Oceans at Night, a unique event for people over 21 years old that wish to have a good time near the ocean at night. This event combines art, science, and technology so that you can discover the wonders of the sea at night.

Oceans at Night features interactive experiences highlighting ocean phenomena that occur at night including bioluminescence and biofluorescence, while creating a fun, adults-only atmosphere with live music,” they stated on their official invitation.

At this event, you will find glowing rooms with real sized games whose goal is to make you feel as if you were in the bottom of the ocean, particularly where bioluminescence plays an important role.

In addition, there will be special lenses so that visitors have the opportunity to explore the aquarium under a new light, while seeing some animals including crystal jellies, Pacific spiny lumpsuckers, strawberry anemones, and corals, as they transform in the darkness.

When does this event, which will take place on some Thursdays of 2023, begin? Thursday, January 26, 2023 from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM. The events will take place on selected Thursdays throughout the year. Tickets will cost $27 dollars for members and $30 dollars for the public at large.

The address is: 2300 Expedition Way, La Jolla, CA 92037, United States. If you want to learn more about this event or purchase your tickets, click here!
