One of Mexico’s oldest and most fun festivals will take place from February 16 to February 21, 2023

The deadline is fast approaching for Ensenada Festival celebrations, which will take place from February 16 to February 21, 2023.

Like every year, hundreds of tourists and Ensenada natives will enjoy the floats, dancers, harlequins, and other attractions throughout the 6 days of these fun festivities.

It will all begin on Thursday, February 16 with the “Quema del mal humor (The Burning of Bad Mood)" inauguration, which will be the symbolic burning of a doll that represents collective irrational hatred. Moments later, one can enjoy a fireworks show.

It should be noted that these celebrations will take place in Downtown Ensenada and there will be five different stages. The popular parades are scheduled for February 18, 19, and 21. All activities will be open from 6 PM to 2 AM.

On Friday, February 17, titled as Entrada de la Nueva Corte (Entry of the New Court), the winner king and queen will be crowned, both Children Royalty as well as the King and Queen of the Carnival.

On the weekend of February 18 and 19, the float parade will begin, as well as music concerts. This is all part of the city’s traditions, which is why missing these two days could be considered as sacrilege.

On Monday, February 20, the Baile del Marido Oprimido (Dance of the Oppressed Husband) will take place, which will have a massive concert. On Tuesday, February 21, on closing day, the Best Troupes of the Festival will be awarded. This day is considered one of the most fun and joyful of this festival.

It should be noted that the Ensenada Carnival is being managed by the Municipal Institute of Culture and Human Development of Ensenada (IMCUDHE). There will be sports activities and the following people will participate at this event: Julio Chaidez, Los alegres de Sierra, Los perdidos de Sinaloa, La Original Banda Limón. A total of 1,500 artists will also participate in this event throughout these six days. To protect citizens’ security, 170 police officers will be present.

The Ensenada Festival is one of the oldest festivals in Mexico and one of the most significant. It is expected that this event will result in an economic revenue of approximately 70 million pesos.
