Seniors in Baja California received federal aid from the Fourth Transformation and Baja Californian Governor, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, who highlighted that the government of Mexico rewards this demographic due to their contribution to national development with social frameworks so that they have a dignified life, away from marginalization and poverty.
The event had the presence of the head of the National Commission of Aquaculture and Fishing (CONAPESCA), Octavio Alberto Almada Palafox. The state governor highlighted that the support by the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, has made a difference to benefit more people.
In addition, she highlighted that thanks to the collaboration of the government of Mexico, an universality in benefit actions has been achieved in order to benefit people with disabilities. In addition, aid for seniors has been expanded, as they receive state aid when they reach 60 years of age, and federal aid when they reach 65 years of age.
She emphasized that the expansion of these benefits is consolidated through Banco del Bienestar, as this aid will be delivered through this institution, based on the principles promoted by President López Obrador, which are centered on the fight against inequality and the social and economic inclusion of all Mexicans.
“The governments of the Fourth Transformation want everyone to receive aid comprehensively, and the functioning of the Bienestar banks and its committees will be key to make sure that this happens everywhere”, Marina del Pilar said.
For his part, Almada Palafox recognized the willingness of the governor to keep in mind the needs of those who need it the most and emphasized the coordination that exists between both levels of government to benefit the fishing industry, allowing them to improve their work conditions and secure sustenance for their families.
