These are the neighborhoods in Tijuana with the most expensive rent prices

Rent prices in Tijuana are increasingly more expensive, so much that some people are not able to live in certain neighborhoods in the city

Rent prices in Tijuana continue to increase more and more due to the high demand by Americans who prefer living in this border municipality than in pricey California, USA, and there doesn’t seem to be any signs that prices are decreasing.

Tijuana is one of the five cities in Mexico where house renting is more expensive, because they are paid in dollars and because the cost per square meter is one of the highest in the country.

It was Paola Olascoaga Díaz, president of the Association of Real Estate Professionals of Tijuana (APIT), who revealed that all the areas near San Ysidro and Otay are the ones in highest demand.

In addition, she claimed that some areas that have shown rent price increases are La Cacho, Gabilondo, Chapultepec, Hacienda Agua Caliente, Otay Universidad, Hipódromo, Zona Río, and La Libertad.

According to outlet Propiedades, the average rent price for a house in Tijuana is $18,235 pesos for 150 square meters. Hacienda Agua Caliente was the one that showed the highest prices, reaching all the way to $50,227 pesos.

Despite the fact that prices are through the roof and in 2023 they have had an increase between 10% to 20%, living in Tijuana is still an advantage for American citizens, as these numbers do not compare to what they would pay in the United States.
