Montserrat Caballero has 54.1% in voter preferences for her upcoming reelection for the Mayor's Office of Tijuana: IMERK

The first female mayor of Tijuana is 40 points higher than her closest contender

According to the latest data by pollster IMERK, the mayor of Tijuana is in the lead regarding her reelection to continue being the mayor of Tijuana. With a huge rating of 54.1%, citizens of Tijuana have shown, so far, their clear preference of the mayor as the favorite for this municipal position.

On the way to the 2024 elections, where the municipal presidencies of Baja California will be elected, IMERK Opinion & Market Intelligence has carried out polls every month since April to find out the level of knowledge, perception, and preference in the voting population.

Regarding Tijuana's mayor's office, Montserrat Caballero has positioned herself more than 42 points higher than her closest contender, in a list made up of 14 people in politics; among them, there are officials and former officials of the three levels of government.

In this poll, Caballero Ramírez had her highest rating as the "best option for the mayor's office", ahead by double the percentage of her closest contender.

Regarding the image of possible candidates, the mayor of Tijuana is in the lead once again, with a positive perception of 64.9% in preferences, more than 10 percentage points above the closest competitors in numbers.

It should be noted that Caballero Ramírez also leads the knowledge index of possible candidates, as more than 9 out of 10 people said that they knew of her, while her closest competitor had a 70% rate of recognition.

To carry out this study, IMERK used a sample of 600 people with valid voter IDs to vote in Tijuana, in face-to-face interviews, with a 95% trustworthiness rate and a margin of error of +-4.0%.
