Tijuana stands out in international police dog competition

At a police dog competition in California, Tijuana was ranked among the first places

The Tijuana Municipal Police K9 Unit was ranked among the first places in an international competition which took place in California, showing the great skills among canine agents and their trainers.

With the participation of more than 100 dogs from all over the world, this competition of police and military dogs took place in Riverdale, California.

The K9 Unit that represented the 24th Municipal Administration of Tijuana won first place in obedience, third place in agility, and fifth place in area search.

José Fernando Sánchez González, Secretary of Municipal Security and Citizen Protection, congratulated the municipal agents due to their excellent representation and for the work carried out to safeguard Tijuana natives.

In addition, he explained that the dogs that are part of this unit are part of the police family, are treated with respect, care, love, and this is reflected on the great teamwork and trust between them and their trainers.

The big winner was the beautiful female dog "Sophía" who stood out in tests regarding substance detection and patrolling, which earned her a recognition as one of the best ones in the competition, putting the name of Tijuana in a high place worldwide.
