SMADS informs about air quality in Tijuana during winter

You can check the city's air quality every day on the official state government website

Regarding air quality, the Secretariat of the Environment and Sustainable Development (SMADS) provides information through its monitoring system to make sure that good conditions are maintained and to prevent people's health from being compromised.

"In winter, we face weather challenges that affect air quality in our state due to meteorological factors and behavior patterns that impact the concentration of atmospheric pollutants, which is why it is essential to point out that one must take into account specific characteristics of bad winter air quality. These can vary depending on the region and local conditions," the head of this agency, Mónica Vega Aguirre, stated.

This is why, during the winter season, it is recommended that people follow recommendations issued by official authorities, especially people with respiratory diseases. As such, SMADS will continue to promptly report changes in air quality and the necessary measures to protect the health of all Baja Californians.
