The first train ride will take place on January 27, 2024

In order to increase tourism offerings, the administration led by Governor Marina del Pilar reactivated the historic Tijuana-Tecate passenger train which was inaugurated at the beginning of last century and represented an essential role in the development of the region's infrastructure.

The state governor emphasized that the project reflects the commitment by the Secretariat of Tourism of the State (SECTURE) to provide Baja Californians the chance to enjoy and enrich themselves with the rich cultural heritage of the region.

The train will provide tourists and locals a comfortable way of exploring touristic attractions, from the vibrant energy of Tijuana to the serenity and unique traditions of Tecate, which has been designated as a Magical Town. Exceptional gastronomy and natural beauties, such as La Rumorosa, promise to be a unique experience.

"This project not only has as a goal to connect cities, but its mission is to revitalize places of historical importance, providing the Baja Californian community with the opportunity to enjoy and enrich themselves with our rich cultural heritage," Marina del Pilar said.
