Want to get married? Municipal Administration of Tijuana opens call for collective weddings in 2024

The government of Montserrat Caballero has begun registration for the first collective weddings of 2024

The 24th Municipal Administration of Tijuana, led by mayor Montserrat Caballero Ramírez, opened the call so that the first collective weddings can take place in 2024. These will take place on Wednesday, February 14 as a way to unite at least one thousand couples in an unforgettable and free ceremony.

Official 01 at the Civil Registry, Angélica Félix Domínguez, explained that by instructions of the mayor of Tijuana and in order to benefit Tijuana families, procedures will be made easier so that more couples can obtain legal certainty regarding their union.

In order to be part of this ceremony titled, "En Tijuana, el amor es para todos", people who are interested must go to any of the 11 Civil Registry offices starting this week and until February 7 in order to participate in this process and submit the required documents.

These requirements are a birth certificate, a current official ID, and CURP with QR code from both partners as well as a medical prenup analysis that is no older than 15 days.

Félix Domínguez said that in case these couples have children together, they will be exempted from the prenup analysis as long as they submit these children's birth certificate.

Regarding foreign parties, they must submit the same requirements, but these documents must be translated and apostilled. In case they have been divorced, they must submit a divorce certificate.

This collective ceremony will take place on Wednesday, February 14 at 12 PM. Information about this event's venue will be given in the next few days, which is why people are asked to keep an eye on the official accounts of the Municipal Administration of Tijuana.

The government of Tijuana encourages couples to take advantage of this campaign and formalize their union as they will obtain legal certainty with access to the rights and obligations that marriage conveys. In addition, it makes several procedures and services such as access to social security, benefits, among others, much easier.

Another advantage of being part of these collective marriages is that requesting this process and the ceremony will be free, which will help to support the economy of the families of Tijuana as instructed by mayor Montserrat Caballero.
