Mayor of Tijuana, Montserrat Caballero, celebrates Three Kings' Day with DIF

The municipal president highlighted these holidays as the perfect moment to be with your loved ones, friends, and neighbors

The mayor of Tijuana, Montserrat Caballero Ramírez, delivered roscas de reyes (king cakes), alongside hot chocolate and toys to low-income children and people with disabilities on January 5th.

"I want to tell you that us, as a government, get very excited that you are here with us on this Three Kings' Day, because it is a date where you have a piece of cake, surrounded by your loved ones, friends, and neighbors, it makes our family bonds stronger," the mayor highlighted at System for the Comprehensive Development of Family (SDIF) facilities.

In front of neighbors of La Presa Este, Florido, and Lagunitas Delegations, where many people in vulnerable conditions live, the mayor said that these celebrations help to strengthen the union between everyone to bring a moment of joy to each home.

Accompanied by the president of SDIF, Alma Delia Caballero, and the Secretary of the Interior, Miguel Ángel Bujanda Ruiz, the mayor thanked the team of the 24th Municipal Administration that is working tirelessly not only for children, but for seniors and love for the city.

Alongside senior official, Marcelo Machain Servín, the mayor said during this celebration that as mayor and mother, it was gratifying to see the smiles and joy of children who received their toys, as well as sharing the cake and hot chocolate.

The mayor now understands why her mother woke up in a bad mood in Christmas or in Three Kings' Day because when you don't have anyone and you have to pay rent and electricity and you know that you have to get gifts on the 6th because you are loving and responsible mother, everything can be accomplished.

She recognized that her mother was able to do it and said that love should never be missing among Tijuana’s families so that they can teach their children that poverty is mindset related.

Montserrat Caballero recalled that these days after Christmas and New Year are all about being together and united with love and hope in search of a great new year.
