Marina del Pilar carries out actions to fight gender-based violence in Baja California

More than 39,000 comprehensive services have been offered with support from the Center for the Justice of Women in Tijuana

During the National Meeting of Centers for the Justice of Women, the governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, reported on the actions that the federal government is coordinating alongside the state administration in order to make protection of women, girls, and teenagers in the state more effective.

At this inaugural event, directors of the Centers for the Justice of Women from several Mexican states met in order to take part in panels, work meetings, and experience exchanges in order to strengthen strategies and assistance models to benefit women for three days.

The governor underscored that, during her administration, comprehensive measures have been adopted in order to fight gender-based violence, elevating this job to one of the main three fundamental pillars of the 2022-2027 State Development Plan. This approach allows for the development of public policies so that women have the right to live lives free of violence.

She also stressed the importance of the Centers for the Justice of Women that represent a key point in the state strategy against gender-based violence. Since it began operations, more than 39,000 comprehensive services have been provided at CEJUM Tijuana.

The state governor recognized the valuable joint work by the Judicial Branch and the State's Attorney General Office in the state as well as the support from society and companies that have contributed to this cause. In addition, she made a call for women to report and approach Centers for the Justice of Women reiterating that violence in homes cannot be tolerated or normalized.
