The government of Playas de Rosarito, led by Mayor Rocio Adame Muñoz, in collaboration with the Baja California Secretariat of the Environment and Sustainable Development, has launched the "Por Un Aire Limpio" (For Clean Air) Winter Campaign. This initiative is designed to safeguard the health of Rosarito residents while promoting environmental preservation.
The campaign focuses on raising awareness about the importance of air quality and tackling factors that contribute to pollution, especially during the winter months. Through educational programs and informational outreach, the initiative encourages habits and practices that help reduce air contamination.
“Air quality is a shared responsibility. By working together with the Baja California Secretariat of the Environment and Sustainable Development, we can create a greater impact and bring meaningful change to benefit our community,” said Mayor Adame.
The mayor also emphasized the need for preventive actions during winter. She explained that temperature inversion—a natural phenomenon that can intensify air pollution—makes it essential to adopt responsible habits and work collectively to lower emissions.
Activities such as burning wood in bonfires and using poorly maintained vehicles release large amounts of pollutants, Mayor Adame noted. She called on residents to avoid these practices and take steps toward improving air quality.
The government of Playas de Rosarito, along with the Baja California Secretariat of the Environment and Sustainable Development, invites everyone to join this campaign and adopt healthier, more eco-friendly habits.
