El Centro Sector agents detained a group of 31 migrants after the driver of the vehicle carrying them abandoned the van and fled toward Mexico.
According to officials, the driver crossed the border in an attempt to evade agents, apparently believing he would escape in the process.
Mexican authorities, however, intervened and apprehended the driver, who went from behind the wheel to a jail cell.
Meanwhile, El Centro Sector agents took the remaining members of the group into custody following the driver’s flight.
