El Costeñito: New flavors in Tijuana's Kitchen

The gastronomical variety in the border now has even more to offer

This week, Tijuana has received a new set of flavors in it's gastronomical repertoire. "El Costeñito" recently had it's grand opening, welcoming customers to try their fine dishes and enjoy the ambiance. Mainly dedicated to offering seafood like fish and shrimp tacos, tostadas de ceviche among other dishes, as well as their mixed drinks like the traditional clamato, "El Costeñito" has quickly consolidated itself as one of the best restaurant franchises in Mexico. The key to their success is a simple yet important formula "Enjoying a good meal at a fair price".

"El Costeñito" started about 7 years ago in the city of Torreon, Coahuila and they expect to open at least another 6 locations in Baja California, as well as many more across Mexico.

With an investment of $1.5 million dollars, "El Costeñito" will generate 70 jobs. The young entrepreneurs thanked the local and state government for all the support they've received, they also highlighted all the factors that influenced them to take a gamble and open the restaurant in Tijuana. It is estimated that during 2013, around 30 different restaurants will open in the city.

They mentioned that Tijuana has regained the trust investors once had in the city, and the stories of insecurity and danger in this city by the border have all been left behind. They were genuinely surprised to find Tijuana so rejuvenated, and they are happy to contribute in Tijuana's new chapter in history: The border as a point of reference when it comes to gastronomical culture for Mexico as well as the world.

"El Costeñito" has a capacity to serve up to 230 people, with a gourmet area, a kids section as well as a Bar. Using the premise of "becoming coastal", the restaurant wishes to make customers feel as if they were on vacation when they enjoy enjoy a meal there, while keeping an ambiance that welcomes all types of customers, as you can have a business lunch, hang out with friends, or even having a romantic dinner. This new restaurant will be located at Blvd. Sánchez Taboada No. 4555-B, Col. Aviación, Tijuana B.C.
