Baja California is rolling out a vibrant, multi-day celebration in honor of International Dance Day (April 29) and International Jazz Day (April 30). With a diverse lineup of events across every municipality, the state is doubling down on its commitment to making the arts accessible to all and free of charge.
Led by Secretary of Culture Alma Delia Abrego Ceballos, the initiative invites locals and visitors alike to enjoy a packed schedule of concerts, dance performances, film screenings, and workshops. Most events are completely free.
Here’s an overview of what will be taking place across the state.

Mexicali
Jazz fans can enjoy A Love Electric on April 30 at 7:00 PM at the CEART Experimental Forum. Dance fans can catch the State Dance Meeting on April 26 at 7:00 PM at the State Theater, followed by Dionisio Dance Company on April 29 at 7:00 PM at CEART.
Tijuana
The beat goes on with the Julian James Band on April 22 at 7:00 PM at CEART’s Experimental Forum (free entry). Then, on April 23, Jazz Four Sax takes the stage at the ISC Multiforum with tickets at just $200 pesos ($12 USD).
In addition, don’t miss the classic Swan Lake on April 25 at 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM (sold out, but a new show has just been added for April 24 at 7:00 PM). Also on April 29: a free screening of Billy Elliot at Cinema CEART and the stage piece Spring in the Desert. Both events are free.

Ensenada
Catch the documentary Suite a la Mexicana, blending music and imagery, on April 28 at 7:00 PM at the “Leoncio García” Experimental Forum. Then celebrate dance with Astronaut in the Pinacate on April 29 at 6:30 PM. Admission is free.
San Felipe
Children get their moment to shine with The Jazz of My Emotions, a fun children’s activity on April 18 at 10:00 AM at the Culture Delegation.
Tecate
The whole community is invited to the We All Make Dance festival, running April 24–26 at various locations and times which promotes participation, joy, and moving together.
