With a total of 512 medals, Baja California has secured third place in the medal table at the CONADE 2026 National Olympics, Governor Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda announced during her morning press conference. She highlighted that the state delegation earned medals across 43 disciplines, reaffirming Baja California’s position as one of the country’s leading sports powers.
Speaking from Ensenada, the governor emphasized that this achievement directly reflects the discipline and daily effort of the athletes, coaches, and families who put their hearts into every competition. She also reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to continue strengthening sports infrastructure and opportunities for the state’s youth.

“This result is a reflection of the talent, discipline, and effort of our athletes, coaches, sports associations, and families, who give their all every day to represent Baja California. Behind every medal there is much more than a sporting result: there are stories of perseverance and young people who have found in sports an opportunity to grow, develop, and build a better future,” she said.
Laura Elena Marmolejo Toscano, Director General of the Baja California Institute of Sport and Physical Culture (INDEBC), noted that the state delegation consisted of 1,618 participants, including 1,212 high-performance athletes. The medal breakdown includes 176 gold, 155 silver, and 181 bronze medals.

Marmolejo Toscano also highlighted that Baja California achieved first place nationally in several disciplines, including open water swimming, basketball, boxing, fencing, men’s artistic gymnastics, swimming, and rowing. Additionally, the state secured third place in canoeing, women’s artistic gymnastics, racquetball, and taekwondo, with a total of 34 sports ranking in the country’s top 10.
State authorities extended special recognition to the parents, as well as the technical, medical, and psychological staff who supported the athletes throughout their training.
The Baja California government reiterated its commitment to continuing to provide support so that young athletes can further develop their talent on international stages.
