Baja California is moving to expand its cruise tourism sector in Ensenada through new tours and promotional campaigns.

Baja California’s Secretary of Tourism Miguel Ángel Badiola Montaño noted that Ensenada is Mexico’s second-busiest cruise port and has welcomed just over one million cruise passengers so far this year. As such, officials are collaborating with cruise lines to develop new routes that guide visitors toward expanded tourist offerings.

In addition, a strategy to encourage passengers to disembark and explore destinations beyond the immediate port area is being considered.

Current promotional efforts include on-board advertising across cruise fleets, alongside marketing campaigns via Volaris to highlight emerging destinations such as San Quintín.

Furthermore, the Secretary noted there are plans to launch informational bulletins in English and Mandarin to promote Baja California in new markets.
