Throughout the month of July, all seven municipalities of Baja California will showcase their cultural identity at “Ventana a México”, the first permanent tourism promotion space established by Mexico’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) in Plaza México, San Diego.
Over four weeks, visitors will be immersed in the full breadth of Baja California’s tourism, gastronomy, and cultural heritage, with a dynamic program spanning nature, wine tourism, indigenous traditions, fine arts, adventure travel, and the distinctive character of each of the state’s seven destinations.

According to Miguel Ángel Badiola Montaño, Baja California’s Secretary of Tourism, the platform offers a strategic opportunity to reinforce the state’s presence in its key visitor market while deepening connections with Mexican nationals living in the United States and bring Mexican identity and culture closer to the binational community.
Badiola Montaño emphasized that the event reflects a coordinated effort across the tourism sector, bringing together promotional agencies, business chambers, cultural institutes, independent creators, and other stakeholders across the value chain.

Throughout July, attendees can expect a rich roster of live music and artistic performances, traditional ceremonies from Baja California’s native peoples, cultural exhibitions, curated food tastings, wine-centric experiences, adventure tourism showcases, and detailed guidance on travel options across the state.
The secretary also framed the effort as part of Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmedo’s broader vision to elevate tourism promotion as a driver of community well-being and economic vitality to reach new audiences, generate prosperity for local communities, and cement Baja California as a destination of profound authenticity.
All activities will run through July 31 at Plaza México, situated adjacent to the Mexican Consulate on India Street in San Diego. A weekly schedule will be posted on the official social media channels of the Baja California Secretariat of Tourism.

About Ventana a México and the Mexican Consulate in San Diego
Ventana a México is the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs’ first dedicated, ongoing tourism promotion space within Plaza México, designed to spotlight the cultural, culinary, and travel offerings of Mexico’s diverse states.
Under the leadership of Consul Alicia Kerber, the Mexican Consulate General in San Diego has become a vital hub for the Mexican community across Southern California. Beyond its consular services, the consulate hosts year-round cultural programming, health outreach events, community gatherings, and most recently, viewing parties for Mexican National Team matches during the World Cup.
Located at 1549 India Street, just minutes from Little Italy, the consulate stands as a key bridge between Mexico and the region’s binational community.
