Arnulfo Guerrero León, who served as Municipal Government Secretary of the Tijuana City Hall, issued a statement this week categorically rejecting claims that he approved permits for a bullfighting event promoted on social media as the “Grand Inaugural Bullfight” during his tenure.

Guerrero emphasized that his position has consistently aligned with the protection and welfare of animals, and that he never greenlit any such activity.

The former official went a step further, calling on local authorities to launch a thorough investigation into any documentation that might falsely link him to the permit as well as any other irregularities surrounding the event’s organization.

Guerrero also urged law enforcement to determine accountability in the matter and to proceed with full transparency, reaffirming his ongoing commitment to responsible public service and to the citizens of Tijuana.

“The public deserves to know the truth,” Guerrero stated in the release.
