Autumn charm and Halloween festivities are set to take over Big Bear Lake this season. Residents and visitors alike are invited to enjoy a wide variety of family-friendly activities, including trick-or-treating, costume displays, live music, and a community-wide decorating contest.
On Saturday, October 31, The Village, one of Big Bear Lake’s main areas, will host its annual Halloween celebration from 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM.
During the event, trick-or-treaters can visit participating local businesses, show off their creative costumes, and explore the boutique shopping and dining options throughout The Village.

Halloween to the Beat of the ’80s
A central highlight of this year’s festivities is a free live performance by The Spazmatics, a high-energy band known for performing popular hits from the 1980s.
The concert is integrated directly into the event schedule, giving visitors the chance to blend an afternoon of trick-or-treating with live musical entertainment.
Supported by the City of Big Bear Lake, the event is open to all ages and designed to offer a safe, festive environment for families.
Scarecrows and Day of the Dead Exhibits Take Over Big Bear Lake
Beyond the single-day festivities on October 31, the festivities extend throughout the season with the Big Bear Scarecrow & Día de los Muertos Decorating Competition.
Local participants have crafted creative, spooky, and culturally rich installations scattered across Big Bear Valley. The self-guided tour offers a seasonal outing for families and friends, with community members encouraged to vote online for their favorite displays.
To help visitors navigate the experience, organizers have made an interactive map available outlining all exhibit locations.

Exhibition Schedule
The Scarecrow and Día de los Muertos displays will remain on view through Tuesday, November 3, 2026, giving attendees time to complete the tour and cast their votes.
