Ismael Burgueño Ruiz continues to position himself as the frontrunner for Baja California’s governor race, as he leads the internal race with 30.9% of preferences among Morena supporters.
When tested in a broader inter-party competition scenario, his advantage expands to 40.7% of voting intention.

This result places Ismael Burgueño well ahead of the nearest opposition contender, who trails by 21.4 percentage points with just 19.3%.
However, things can still change as 27.3% have said they have yet to make up their minds.
Ismael Burgueño’s high poll numbers also reflect a favorable political climate for Morena in the state. The ruling party commands 41.3% of voter support in Baja California, far outpacing the National Action Party (PAN) at 17.3% and Movimiento Ciudadano at 7.2%. 18.7% remain undecided on which party to back.

The survey which took place on August 4, 2026, conducted by telephone among 1,000 adults across Baja California, carries a 95% confidence level and is part of Demoscopía’s ongoing monthly tracking effort.
