CESPT Director General Mónica Vega Aguirre has introduced a fully online system for requesting water payment agreements, allowing users to complete the entire process from a smartphone or computer.
This initiative forms part of a broader digital transformation strategy led by Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, aimed at streamlining bureaucratic procedures and reducing wait times.
“This is a key step for customers who need to bring their accounts up to date. Now they can explore all available options, choose the plan that works best for their budget, and submit their application from wherever they are,” Vega Aguirre said.
The portal is available at www.cespt.gob.mx/convenios/. Upon entering an email address and their water account number, applicants receive an immediate summary of their outstanding balance and can view personalized payment scenarios.
Each user may select an initial down payment between 15% and 50% of the total debt, along with a repayment period ranging from 3 to 12 months. Before finalizing, the system displays a detailed amortization schedule showing each monthly installment and the remaining balance.
To proceed, applicants must provide a valid email address to receive a verification code. They are then required to submit personal information and specify if they are the owner, legal representative, or co-signer.
Clear photos of both sides of an official government-issued ID are required. In cases where a representative acts on behalf of the account holder, an ID and a power of attorney must also be uploaded.
Once the application is complete, CESPT staff will review the submission and, within three business days, send a payment voucher via email to facilitate the corresponding installments.
The agreement structure also permits additional payments directly toward the principal balance. Through this new digital portal, CESPT aims to simplify the regularization process and offer greater flexibility to its users.
