San Diego’s annual “Kids Free in October” campaign has officially returned, offering families a month-long opportunity to enjoy the region’s top cultural and tourist attractions without admission fees.
Throughout the month, more than 70 museums, gardens, and science across San Diego County are providing free entry to children ages 12 and under, provided they are accompanied by a paying adult.
The Kids Free in October initiative spans diverse institutions, including art and history museums, aquariums, and nature centers, with some of them offering free admission to the whole family.
In a notable expansion for this year’s program, the campaign has also incorporated participating cultural spaces in Tijuana.

Beyond traditional museum offerings, a wide array of San Diego hotels, restaurants, and major entertainment destinations are rolling out complementary promotions allowing children to eat, stay, or experience venues at no cost.
Participating major attractions include SeaWorld, the San Diego Zoo & Safari Park, LEGOLAND California Resort, SEA LIFE Aquarium, and Belmont Park.
Because terms, age restrictions, and requirements vary significantly by establishment, visitors are encouraged to review specific conditions directly with each venue before planning their trips.
