Kwanza Jones, “La Madre” of the San Diego Padres, took to social media shortly after they were knocked out of the National League Division Series (NLDS), following their elimination from the postseason by the Milwaukee Brewers.

In an Instagram post addressing San Diego fans, the franchise co-owner expressed her disappointment over the early exit while reaffirming her deep commitment to the team

“It hurts. It stings. But the belief doesn’t change. Fellas and faithful, thank you. We all in. Always,” she wrote.

Jones also voiced her appreciation for the fanbase’s unwavering support throughout the four-game series. The NLDS opened at American Family Field, where Milwaukee claimed back-to-back victories to take an early series lead. At Petco Park, the Padres bounced back with a win before the Brewers closed out the series to advance to the next stage.

In August 2026, Jones and her husband, Puerto Rican billionaire José E. Feliciano, led an investment group that formally acquired the San Diego Padres for a record-breaking $3.9 billion.
