Mayor Norma Bustamante of Mexicali Leads Association of Mexican Capital Cities (ACCM) and Strengthens Ties with Mexican Government

The mayor of Mexicali highlighted the importance of building a collaborative agenda with President Claudia Sheinbaum's administration.

Mayor Norma Bustamante of Mexicali, acting as President of the Association of Mexican Capital Cities (ACCM), met with the General Coordinator of the National Institute for Federalism and Municipal Development (INAFED), Armando Quintero.

At the meeting, the mayor highlighted the importance of establishing a collaborative agenda with President Claudia Sheinbaum’s government. “Our vision is federalist, municipal, and proactive. That’s why we seek to work with the Mexican Government as allies, in a relationship of mutual respect, always prioritizing the well-being of our communities,” she stated.

Meanwhile, the head of INAFED acknowledged ACCM’s vision in addressing the needs of municipalities across the country—such as security, water, and infrastructure—in coordination with the federal government.

It should be noted noting that the meeting was also attended by the mayors of Chihuahua, Mérida, Tepic, Saltillo, Guadalajara, Tlaxcala, Puebla, Villahermosa, San Luis Potosí, Morelia, Colima, Hermosillo, and Zacatecas, as well as a representative from Durango.
