The Mexicali Well-Being Community Center (CIB) celebrated its second anniversary, cementing its role as a vital hub range of workshops, educational programs, and professional development tools, welcoming more than 27,000 women through its doors since opening.
Governor Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda marked the milestone by pointing to the initiative as a cornerstone of her administration’s social agenda, specifically targeting support for women in vulnerable situations.

“This is why I decided to enter public service, this is what has motivated since day one, to transform lives. True transformation happens when women are empowered to believe in themselves and build their own futures,” she said.
The governor noted that supporting women inevitably strengthens families and broader communities and encouraged participants to continue leveraging the center’s resources to advance their personal and professional goals.

Felipe de Jesús Gamboa, Secretary of Well-Being, highlighted the CIB’s integrated approach, which consolidates educational options, job training, and essential social services under one roof to streamline assistance for Mexicali families.
“On behalf of the community, I thank you for this Well-Being project because it has opened doors to personal goals many of us, benefiting our lives in many ways,” said Ramona de los Ángeles, a CIB participant and recipient of the state’s Violet Card program.

The anniversary event featured a broad mix of community services and activities. Attendees were able to take primary and middle school equivalency exams, enroll in high school, access beauty and wellness services, and participate in a local business expo and culinary showcases.
Governor Marina del Pilar explained her wish to replicate the Mexicali model by opening a new center in San Quintín, developing additional facilities in Tijuana, and launching smaller-scale community hubs across Baja California to continue promoting families’ economic stability and shared well-being.
