Mexican Senator Enrique Inzunza Cázarez has denied reports of his arrest in San Diego, stating through his X account that the claims are false and that he is currently in Sinaloa with his constituents.
The denial comes after various media outlets in both Mexico and the United States reported over the weekend that the Sinaloa lawmaker had been taken into custody in San Diego. In response, Inzunza took to social media to clarify that no such apprehension has taken place.
He further stated that if any legal action is brought against him, he will respond to any requests made by Mexican authorities in accordance with his constitutional powers.
“One is what one has always been throughout life,” the senator wrote. “My honesty and uprightness are backed by the truth of a career built on hard work, study, and service with integrity.”
