Baja California is making waves in the culinary world. With seven new Bib Gourmand honors, the state has solidified its reputation for creative cuisine and exceptional flavors this time with Tijuana and Ensenada taking center stage.
According to Miguel Ángel Badiola Montaño, Baja California’s Secretary of Tourism, the region’s cooking has become a Mexican emblem beyond the country’s borders as the state’s diversity has shaped a rich identity deeply rooted in tradition.

While the Michelin Guide first hit the scene in 1900, it wasn’t until 1997 that the Bib Gourmand category was introduced.
Unlike Michelin Stars that celebrate exceptional cuisine regardless of price, Bib Gourmand recognizes spots where great technique and unique flavor meet accessible prices.
The award is symbolized by Bibendum, the Michelin man, shown smiling and savoring a meal, a playful nod to menu excellence.

Casa Marcelo charmed its way into the guide with family-tradition cheeses and hearty, traditional breakfasts, most notably, its smoked lamb.

Finally, Sabina earned recognition for its hot specialties, ceviche, cod, and more.
