The city of Playas de Rosarito has strengthened its binational ties with Huntington Park, California, through an official visit aimed at enhancing cultural, tourism, and economic exchange.
The Rosarito delegation, led by Councilman Alan Bautista Plascencia, who serves as President of the Tourism and Economic Development Commission, was formally welcomed by Huntington Park Mayor Eddie Martínez, Vice Mayor Jonathan Sanabria, and members of the city’s arts and culture council. During the meeting, officials from both cities reaffirmed their commitment to continue strengthening cooperation across key sectors.

The delegation represented the 10th City Hall of Playas de Rosarito and included María Isabel Peredo, Secretary of Culture; Horacio Bayardo, Promotions Coordinator for COTUCO; and a group of local artists: Galería Puerto Nuevo, David Silvah, Marlen Castor, Gregorio Rodríguez, Úrsula Lozano, Pablo Damas, and Benito del Águila. The latter used the opportunity to promote the upcoming Art Walk Rosarito, scheduled for May 23–24.
Throughout the visit, Rosarito’s artistic and cultural offerings took center stage. The meetings also generated new collaborative opportunities aimed at boosting tourism, driving economic promotion, and expanding binational exchange.

Councilman Bautista Plascencia highlighted that the Tourism and Economic Development Commission remains actively engaged in the sister cities program. This initiative has already helped build institutional relationships with Glendale, California; Las Vegas, Nevada; and now Huntington Park.
“We will continue pushing this sister city program as a tool to promote Playas de Rosarito on an international level, strengthening cultural, tourism, and economic exchange, as well as binational cooperation between our communities,” he said.
With these actions, the Playas de Rosarito City Hall reaffirms its commitment to building collaborative bridges that support the city’s comprehensive development and strengthen its international presence.
