Municipal crews have removed more than 80 tons of bulk waste and debris across La Presa Este, La Presa Abelardo L. Rodríguez, and Cerro Colorado districts, as part of Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz’s Tijuana: Clean City initiative.
The cleanup efforts began in the El Florido III neighborhood of La Presa Este on Sandia Street, where workers collected 30 tons of heavy trash, graded 4,500 square meters of unpaved roadway, and inspected 8 streetlights, directly benefiting an estimated 3,500 residents.
Crews then moved to Las Torres Avenue in the Mariano Matamoros Sur neighborhood within the La Presa Abelardo L. Rodríguez district. Operations there removed 45 tons of bulk trash and debris alongside 3,000 square meters of road grading, impacting roughly 3,300 local community members.
The final phase took place on Comunidades Street in Cerro Colorado Section IV, where teams cleared an additional 10 tons of heavy waste serving 1,000 area residents.
District delegates Joaquín Sandoval Chávez (La Presa Este), María del Rocío González López (La Presa Abelardo L. Rodríguez), and Rosa Margarita García Zamarripa (Cerro Colorado) oversaw the operations alongside representatives from Public Works, the City Auditor’s office, and local residents.
The 25th City Hall of Tijuana urged residents to help maintain public spaces and report illegal dumping or environmental hazards by dialing 072 to improve the city’s urban image.
