Playas de Rosarito is getting ready to celebrate its 141st anniversary with a lively event designed to bring the community together through music, tradition, and a strong sense of local pride.
The 10th City Hall, led by Mayor Rocío Adame Muñoz, has called on residents to join the festivities, which will feature a grand horseback parade and a full lineup of family-friendly activities.
Expect an atmosphere filled with music, cultural performances, and plenty of opportunities for neighbors and visitors to come together. At the heart of the event is a deep pride in Rosarito’s roots and history.
Local authorities are inviting visitors and tourists to take part in a celebration that aims to strengthen community bonds and keep the city’s traditions alive.
The big day kicks off on Sunday, May 17, with a traditional family gathering that starts with the much-anticipated horseback parade. Ranchers, riders, and families from across the region will ride along Boulevard Benito Juárez in a festive procession that highlights the customs and traditions Rosarito is known for.
Parade participants are asked to gather at 10:00 a.m. in the parking lot in front of the Municipal Building. The official ride will begin at 12:00 p.m., heading toward Lienzo Charro. Adding to the festive atmosphere, the group Bragado will perform along the route.
The procession is expected to arrive at Lienzo Charro around 2:00 p.m., where the celebration will continue with live music, cultural and traditional performances, equestrian exhibitions, and a classic ranchero vibe, plus plenty of activities for children and families. Musical groups Nuevo Norte and Explosión Norteña will take the stage to keep the energy high.
The event is completely free and open to the public. The Municipal Government encourages everyone to come out and enjoy a day filled with joy, togetherness, and Rosarito pride.
Mayor Rocío Adame Muñoz shared the significance of the occasion:
“This celebration represents our history, our identity, and the unity of Rosarito’s families. We want our citizens to experience and enjoy our traditions, for families to gather and be part of this great celebration that honors our past and our roots. Rosarito’s anniversary is a source of pride for all of us,” she said.
For safety reasons, glass containers will not be allowed inside the venue. Organizers ask attendees to follow all security and civil protection guidelines to ensure a safe and orderly celebration.
With this event, the 10th City Hall of Playas de Rosarito reaffirms its commitment to promoting cultural identity, healthy community gatherings, and the traditions that give the municipality its life and character.
