The Tijuana City Hall, through the Municipal Institute of Mental Health and Addictions (IMSAMA), has signed a collaboration agreement with Universidad Vizcaya de las Américas. The partnership aims to develop joint projects in the fields of mental health and addiction prevention, while also creating new opportunities for students to engage in professional internships, social service, and specialized training.

During the official signing ceremony, IMSAMA Director Florina Righetti Rojo emphasized that Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz is committed to joining forces with academic institutions to generate greater educational and participatory opportunities for students.

“This agreement represents a chance to work together for the benefit of the community by promoting projects that contribute to public well-being and the professional development of new generations,” Righetti Rojo stated.

María Isabel Solís Miranda, legal representative of Patronato Cultural Vizcaya A.C., echoed the sentiment, recognizing the importance of building alliances that not only enhance students’ academic training but also reinforce community wellness initiatives.

Under the terms of the agreement, both institutions will collaborate on various projects and open spaces for hands-on training, community service, and educational activities focused on mental health and substance use prevention.

The ceremony was witnessed by IMSAMA Deputy Director Claudia Raquel Trujillo Ruiz; Briceida Alvarado Reyes, career coordinator for Patronato Cultural Vizcaya A.C.; and a group of students who voiced their support for the collaboration.

The 25th Tijuana City Hall reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening ties with the educational sector to deliver greater benefits to the local student community and beyond.
