Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz of Tijuana oversaw the cleanup of the storm drain on Paseo de las Delicias street in the Terrazas del Valle neighborhood, as part of the Tijuana: Clean City program. More than 3,000 local residents will benefit from this initiative.
During the inspection tour, the mayor explained that the work includes sanitizing a 500-meter stretch of the drain and removing 240 cubic meters of sediment. These efforts will improve the urban environment and quality of life for residents in the La Presa Este Delegation.

“We’ve brought in machinery to rehabilitate this area—trucks that will be working every day. There will be no excuses about equipment failure; if a machine breaks down, it will be replaced immediately,” Mayor Burgueño Ruiz of Tijuana underscored.
The cleanup is being carried out with two excavators and two dump trucks, equipment now available to all delegations.

Some residents noted that no cleaning had been done in the area for over 10 years, which is why they thanked municipal authorities for finally addressing the issue.
The mayor engaged directly with Terrazas del Valle residents, listening to their needs and requests and reminding them that collaboration between the community and government ensures a timely response to their needs.

The Tijuana: Clean City program event was attended by Municipal Government Secretary Arnulfo Guerrero León, Delegation Coordinator Adriana Barrera Hernández, and La Presa Este interim director Joaquín Sandoval, along with residents benefiting from the project.
