Baja Beach Fest is just days away, and thousands of fans from the United States are expected to cross into Baja California for one of the region’s biggest weekends of music.
If you’re attending this year’s festival, here’s a guide to everything you need to know before traveling, from entry requirements and transportation to prohibited items and festival policies.
When and where is Baja Beach Fest?
Baja Beach Fest 2026 will take place Aug. 7–9 along the Rosarito beachfront, next to Hotel Oceana del Mar and Papas & Beer club.
Festival gates open daily at 2 p.m., with the busiest arrival window typically between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Organizers recommend arriving early, as security lines can become lengthy during peak hours.
Re-entry is not permitted after 7 p.m., so attendees planning to stay for the evening performances should avoid leaving the venue.
The festival also operates as a cashless event. Purchases inside the venue can be made using festival wristbands loaded with funds or by card.
Before arriving, attendees should activate their wristband online using the seven-digit ID printed on the band. You can register your wristband through the festival’s website before the event.
What documents do you need to enter Mexico?
Travelers should make sure they have all required travel documents before crossing the border.
Most U.S. citizens will need:
- A valid U.S. passport with at least six months of validity remaining from the date of entry into Mexico.
- A valid Mexican visa, if required based on your nationality. U.S. citizens, Canadians, most European Union nationals, Japanese and South Korean passport holders do not need a visa for short tourist visits. You can check the list of countries that do require it here.
- A Multiple Immigration Form (FMM), which can be completed online before arriving in Mexico.
- A Non-Remunerated Visitor Fee (DNR) if staying in Baja California for more than seven days. The 2026 fee is 983 pesos. Read more here.
Travelers can complete the FMM online before their trip and pay the DNR if their stay exceeds seven days.
What can you bring into the festival?
Baja Beach Fest allows several everyday items inside the venue, including:
- Small bags or fanny packs.
- Single-pocket drawstring bags.
- Empty hydration packs.
- Empty reusable plastic or aluminum water bottles.
- Cell phones and portable chargers.
- Point-and-shoot cameras and GoPros (without selfie sticks).
- Sealed sunscreen, eye drops and hand sanitizer.
- Makeup, lip balm and feminine hygiene products.
- Gum, mints, binoculars and earplugs.
- Small country or regional flags.
Small handbags and fanny packs measuring 6 x 9 inches (15 x 22 cm) or smaller do not need to be clear but may only have one pocket.
Larger bags must be made of clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and measure no more than 12 x 6 x 12 inches (30 x 15 x 30 cm).
Hydration backpacks are allowed but must be empty and have no more than two compartments.
What items are prohibited?
On the other hand, these are the prohibited items:
- Weapons of any kind.
- Illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia.
- Outside food or beverages.
- Professional cameras with detachable lenses.
- Drones.
- Aerosol products.
- Glass or metal containers.
- Speakers and other noise-making devices.
- Anyone under 18 years old.
- Fireworks or explosives.
- Promotional materials or flyers.
- Laser pointers.
- Chairs, blankets, umbrellas and hula hoops.
- Vapes and e-cigarette devices.
- Pepper spray or tear gas.
- Multi-pocket backpacks.
- Bags larger than 14 x 11 x 5 inches (35 x 28 x 12 cm), or exceeding 30 linear inches.
Need a place to store your belongings? Festival lockers are available to rent for $60 for all three days, with an optional Thursday pre-party add-on for an additional $40.
Lockers must be emptied at the end of each day, and any unclaimed items will be donated.
Getting to Baja Beach Fest from the U.S.
Official festival shuttle
Baja Beach Fest offers an official round-trip shuttle service from both San Ysidro (San Diego) and Tijuana. Shuttle passes are available for one day or all three festival days, and include one round trip per day between the pickup location and the festival grounds.
From Tijuana
Shuttles depart for the festival continuously between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Return service to Tijuana operates from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.
From San Diego (San Ysidro)
The San Diego shuttle operates Friday through Sunday.
Departures from San Ysidro to the festival are scheduled for 12 p.m., 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Return trips from the festival to San Ysidro depart at 10 p.m., midnight, 2 a.m. and 4 a.m.
Shuttle passes can be purchased through the festival’s official website.
Private drivers
Groups staying in vacation rentals or accommodations farther from the festival can also arrange private transportation through local company Mannix.

Taxis, rideshares and parking
Ride-sharing services such as Uber and DiDi operate in Rosarito, while local taxi companies also provide transportation before and after the festival.
At the end of each night, attendees can catch a ride from the designated Taxi Loop checkpoint located just outside the venue on Benito Juárez Boulevard.

For those driving to the festival, official parking is available for $20 per day at the designated festival lot located at Blvd. Benito Juárez 77, Zona Centro, Rosarito. The parking area operates 24 hours a day from Thursday through Monday and includes on-site security.
Expect road closures
Rosarito officials plan to implement temporary road closures beginning early Friday, August 7, primarily along Benito Juárez Boulevard, to accommodate festival traffic.
Festival organizers also recommend arriving with your ticket, activated wristband and travel documents ready to help speed up entry into both Mexico and the event.
