Tarde de Arte Pacífica, an annual charity event that combines an art auction with wine tastings, local cuisine and craft beer, is returning to Ensenada for its sixth edition to raise funds for women battling breast cancer.

Blending art, gastronomy and Baja California wines, Tarde de Arte Pacífica has become one of Ensenada’s signature charitable events. This year’s edition, scheduled for July 25 at Pacífica at Ensenada Bay, will once again raise funds for Fundación Mujeres que Viven A.C., which provides medical and emotional support to women with breast cancer.

Organizers hope to raise 400,000 pesos, which will help fund free breast reconstruction surgeries, mastectomies, chemotherapy treatments, mammograms, wigs, compression sleeves, turbans, psychological counseling and other medical supplies for women in need.

Art, food and wine come together for a cause

Running from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., the event will feature an art exhibition and live auction alongside food tastings, wine samplings and craft beer from businesses across the region.

More than 75 works of art will be available during the auction, including paintings, prints, ceramic sculptures and giclée pieces. Bidding will begin at $90 per artwork, with attendees competing for each piece throughout the event.

Local restaurants and wineries will participate

Visitors will also be able to sample dishes from several regional restaurants, including D’Lachi Laboratori Di Pasta, Viñedo Don Tomás, Ruah Cocina y Vino, Mihle Culinary Art Design, producers from San Felipe, and Restaurante Matilde.

The wine tasting will feature labels from six wineries in the Valle de Guadalupe: Bodegas Santo Tomás, Cava Valentina, Villa Montefiori, Quinta Monasterio, Las Nubes and Madera 5. Cervecería Cardera will also be on site serving its craft beer.

In addition, local artisan vendors will offer handmade products ranging from gourmet foods to fashion accessories.
