As part of its ongoing commitment to responsible pet ownership and the protection of animal welfare, the Playas de Rosarito City Hall recently organized a free spay and neuter campaign, performing 100 surgeries.
The initiative was made possible through a collaborative effort between the Municipal Government led by the Secretariat of Environmental Protection, civil associations, private sector partners, and local residents.
Well-Being of Sentient Beings Is a Top Priority
“We are working to build a more humane municipality,” Rosarito Mayor Rocío Adame said, “where respect and protection for animals are woven into our cultural fabric and reflected in the government’s daily actions.”
The campaign also received vital backing from a number of local businesses, including Sunio, Café Lulú, Birriería Yujajay, Trigo Norte, Latti, La Cevichana, El Patio, Sabor a Canela, Carnitas Panchos, Hacienda de Badú, and Sober Up Coffee.
Their donations helped ensured that volunteer staff were well-supported throughout the long day of work.

The Rosarito City Hall extended its sincere gratitude to every individual, nonprofit, and company that contributed to the success of the drive.
Officials have also announced that the next free spay and neuter campaign will take place next month and encouraged residents to stay informed and get involved.
The campaign benefited from the active participation of the Directorate of Animal Rights and Welfare, Councilwoman Joanna Garay Machado, who chairs the Health and Environment Commission, and the Rosarito Spay/Neuter Program.
Support also came from the Secretariat of Citizen Security, Canirac Rosarito, and numerous animal rescue groups and advocacy organizations.
