Militants and supporters of the National Regeneration Movement (Morena) from across Baja California gathered at the Mariano Matamoros Sports Complex in Tijuana for the party’s State Informational Assembly.

The meeting was headlined by Ismael Burgueño, a candidate for the State Coordination of the Defense of the Fourth Transformation in Baja California. In his address, Burgueño underscored the broad geographic representation in attendance, with delegates arriving from Tijuana, Tecate, Rosarito, Mexicali, Ensenada, San Felipe, and San Quintín.

“It fills me with pride to see people from every corner of Baja California,” Burgueño said and characterized the current moment as a phase of consolidation for the movement, built on more than a decade of grassroots organizing.

Reflecting on Morena’s origins, Ismael Burgueño paid tribute to the foundational role of former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and voiced his full support for current President Claudia Sheinbaum, urging those present to remain united behind her administration.

“There is no room for corruption or privilege here,” he stated, reaffirming his commitment to carrying Morena’s message and core values across the state as part of ongoing efforts to defend the Fourth Transformation agenda.

The assembly closed with attendees expressing backing for President Sheinbaum and reiterating their dedication to keeping the party’s infrastructure strong throughout Baja California. Ismael Burgueño concluded the event by joining the crowd in singing the Mexican National Anthem.
