Mayor Abdiel Gutiérrez Coronado led the reconstruction of Miguel Hidalgo Street in the La Gloria neighborhood, a hydraulic concrete project that will directly and indirectly benefit more than 24,000 people at a cost of over 7 million pesos.
During an inspection tour, the mayor noted that the project was carried out comprehensively, including sidewalks and curbs, and was funded through municipal resources. He emphasized that the work addresses a heavily traveled roadway that connects several neighborhoods.
“When a project is carried out in Tijuana, it doesn’t only benefit the neighborhood where it is built, it benefits the entire community, because these are alternate routes residents can use to get around,” the mayor said.
Virginia Vargas González, Secretary of Territorial and Urban Development, provided the technical details of the project, which included 3,000 square meters of road, 580 square meters of sidewalks, 600 linear meters of curbing, five pieces of vertical signage, and horizontal signage.
David Osorio Vergara, San Antonio de los Buenos delegate, noted that in addition to this project, pothole repair work was carried out in a nearby area. He also encouraged residents to bring their requests to the delegation for attention.
Also present at this inspection were Carlos Gastélum Félix, director of Municipal Works and Urban Infrastructure, along benefited residents.
The 25th City Hall of Tijuana reaffirmed its commitment to addressing community needs and directing public resources toward projects that improve mobility, strengthen urban infrastructure, and enhance the quality of life for Tijuana families.
