This week it was announced by the Jurisdiction of Health and the Secretary of Health of the State, that the famous and beloved swap meets are the main sources of coronavirus in Tijuana, as well as the crossings such as 5 and 10, because people who pass through these areas do not use masks, nor keep the safe distance.

According to information gathered by El Imparcial, the agency's staff carried out an awareness campaign at the Francisco Villa swap meet, where they gave away face masks and reported on preventive measures against the virus.

During the tour of the swap meet, one could observe the crowds, visitors, non-essential merchants and the lack of face masks in the users, despite the fact that they were given to them.

In spite of the outbreaks and deaths from this virus, there are still people who do not believe it exists, such is the case of Mateo Olvera, a Tijuana citizen who was interviewed by Telemundo 20 in at a swap meet, who stated the following:

"This is a sham. If it were a pandemic, right now no one would be alive, but I haven't seen any dead people".

As of this Wednesday, 13 thousand 218 positive coronavirus cases have been registered in Baja California, of which 3 thousand 916 belong to Tijuana.
