Despite the fact that the federal government reported last Friday on the transition of Baja California from red to orange on the COVID-19 epidemiological traffic light chart, this morning the head of the Health Secretariat of this state, Alonso Pérez Rico, notified that the red light will continue.

"The trend of low hospitalizations is what sent us to orange," said the head of this agency, however, he said that there is still an increase in active cases, which add up to 234 thousand this Saturday.

For its part, the current hospital occupation in Baja California is 69%, and there are 292 beds and 158 fans available.

Pérez Rico also indicated that all activities that are closed will remain the same while those that can be reopened will be analyzed, as well as their percentage of capacity.

"We have a very favorable trend and we are not going to lose it by opening everything," assured the Health Secretary, who added, "we want Baja California to finish the second wave and that it be the last wave it experiences".
