As he does every Tuesday, the head of the Baja California Secretariat of Health, Alonso Pérez Rico, informed about the neighborhoods in Tijuana where swap meet markets will not be allowed to be installed due to the presence of COVID-19 transmission chains.

These neighborhoods are the following: Delicias (7 active cases), Pedregal de Santa Julia (6), Lomas del Porvenir(6), Abedules (11), Sánchez Taboada (9), Lomas de la Amistad (6), Libertad (8) and Ampliación las Torres (6).

Pérez Rico pointed out that these restrictions have reduced the number of COVID-19 cases, and therefore the number of intubated and hospitalized patients.

Thus, from today until next Tuesday, these types of markets are prohibited in these areas of the border city.

So far, of the 959 active cases present in Baja California, 435 are located in Tijuana.
