After being questioned about the measures that have been implemented in Baja California in the face of the shortage of medicinal oxygen faced by patients discharged from hospitals by COVID-19, the head of the Secretariat of Health, Alonso Perez Rico, confirmed that next week the installation of free oxygen refill modules will begin.

"Next week we will implement the program that the head of the executive instructed, which are these completely free oxygen refilling modules. We have already reached an agreement with the company, next week we will tell them exactly the points where the patients of our hospitals can go to refill them completely free of charge", he mentioned.

At the end of January, the Secretary had commented that before the end of 2020 they had already contacted the company that supplies this type of oxygen to the entire northwest of the country, but that the project had yet to be finalized.

According to what Perez Rico explained at the time, the Secretary of Health gives prescriptions to patients with COVID-19 when they are released from hospitals, and he confirmed that next week the installation of free oxygen refilling modules will begin.
