Warnings on restriction of activities in Ensenada due to increase in coronavirus infections

Authorities asked the residents of this municipality to reinforce prevention measures.

As previously commented in this portal, the Secretary of Health Alonso Perez Rico, said he was concerned about the increase of COVID-19 cases that were being observed in Ensenada in the last few days.

So far, this Baja California municipality is the one with the highest incidence per 100 thousand inhabitants with respect to active cases, at 47.98.

At the same time, of the 979 active cases registered up to Saturday morning in the state, 207 are located in this port, which is close to reaching Mexicali, where such cases total 217.

As a result of this, today the head of this agency informed that next week they will begin to analyze "all the activities in this territory in order to start with restrictions".

According to the Secretary's report, of the 41 thousand 649 accumulated positive cases in the region, 6 thousand 248 belong to Ensenada, where in the last 24 hours there were 20 new cases.

Regarding deaths, of the 6 thousand 869 deaths in the state, 955 were in this municipality, which also added 12 new deaths overnight. Authorities asked the residents of Ensenada to reinforce prevention measures.
