Baja California maintains a decreasing hospital occupancy, registering today at 6.29%, with 48 hospitalized patients confirmed with COVID-19, and 22 more intubated.
According to the Secretary of Health, Alonso Perez Rico, this is the first time this situation has been observed since the beginning of the pandemic.
Regarding the number of intubated patients, which a month ago were 70 and today there are 22 in the whole state, the head of this agency assured that "we have fewer patients than when the first wave ended, which was much milder than the second one".
However, he said that the only way to continue with downward trends is to maintain safety and hygiene measures, in addition to applying the anti-COVID vaccine.
In the last 24 hours alone, 79 new cases and three more deaths were reported in the state. In total, there are 44 thousand 517 COVID-19 infections and 7 thousand 656 deaths.
There are 265 cases still active, 112 of them concentrated in Mexicali, 93 in Tijuana, 23 in Ensenada, 20 in San Quintin, 10 in Rosarito and seven in Tecate.
