The head of the Secretariat of Health in Baja California, Alonso Perez Rico, informed that with the existing vaccines and the recent arrival of a shipment with 84 thousand 120 doses of Sinovac, the state currently has 88 thousand 952 vaccines available to be administered.

Of these, 4 thousand 372, which are from Pfizer, are destined to apply second doses to medical personnel in Tijuana and Mexicali, while the remaining 84 thousand 580 are mainly for the elderly in Tijuana, as well as the residents of Ensenada and Rosarito.

Second doses for adults over 60 years of age

Perez Rico also commented that, following the arrival of a shipment of vaccines from AstraZeneca to Mexico, the second dose could be administered in the next few days to adults over 60 years of age in the Mexicali Valley and the deep south who received the vaccine.

While those who received the Sinovac vaccine in Ensenada could be receiving their second dose between Thursday and Friday of this week, he assured.

On the other hand, the adults of Tecate who received the vaccine from Pfizer, could receive their second dose after Thursday of this week, since a shipment of this vaccine is scheduled to arrive on that day, being destined especially for this municipality, said the Secretary of Health.

To conclude, the head of this agency emphasized the importance of the seniors who are waiting to receive their second dose, to take the record sheet that was given to them when they received their first dose, since it not only indicates the vaccine they received but also the time that passed after its application.
