Tijuana asks to maintain sanitary protocols in swap meets and businesses

Costa Hermosa, Maclovio Rojas, Altiplano, Nueva Tijuana, Leandro Valle-Las Flores, Libertad and Francisco Villa are the neighborhoods with the highest level of COVID-19 cases

The Inspection and Verification Department urged street vendors, swap meet vendors and established businesses to continue complying with the necessary sanitary measures and protocols to stop the spread of the SARS CoV-2 virus.

Due to the increase of active cases of coronavirus in Baja California, the Inspection and Verification Department was notified by State Health authorities to reinforce sanitary measures in the following neighborhoods: Costa Hermosa, Maclovio Rojas, Altiplano, Francisco Villa, Nueva Tijuana, Leandro Valle-Las Flores and Libertad, which are the ones with the highest rate of infections in the city.

The municipal agency informed that they continue to work in the streets and street vendors to ensure that they comply with the guidelines and care established by the Secretariat of Health, above all, that they keep their spaces clean and hygienic to avoid other sources of infections in the place, the mandatory use of masks, that they respect the capacity in the food stands of four people eating and with a healthy distance of 1.5 meters at the tables.

As for street vendors who sell food in the streets, such as: tortas, taquerías, burritos, seafood, hot dogs and hamburgers, that they only sell food to take out, but that they always carry their masks, because it is an obligation of the consumers, as well as of the vendor to demand this measure, since if they do not comply with what is established by the Health Department, they will be sanctioned.

Likewise, surveillance has been reinforced in established businesses, bars and restaurants so that they respect the 50 percent capacity, as well as maintain the sanitary filters at the entrance of their premises, sanitizing mat, provide antibacterial gel and temperature taking, since during the past weekend around 10 establishments and street vendors were sanctioned for not complying with these measures.

The Tijuana City Hall continues to reinforce sanitary measures to prevent and take care of the population in order to avoid the increase of infections that may cause the closure of spaces, thus seeking to ensure the health and welfare of the population, as well as to continue reactivating the economy in this border region.
